Job summary

Proactive MD is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered primary care at our employer-sponsored health center in New York, NY. The role offers Monday–Friday hours from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week with no weekends.

You will spend meaningful time with patients, conducting exams, preventive care, and education, while building lasting relationships in a patient-first culture that prioritizes health outcomes over volume metrics.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program.
• Current and unrestricted PA license in the posting state.
• PA-C certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family practice or primary care.
• Prescriptive authority under applicable state and federal requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong computer skills with internet, spreadsheet, and word-processing software.
• Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric (2+) patients in an employer-sponsored health center.
• Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic health conditions.
• Provide preventive care, wellness services, and health education.
• Conduct physical examinations and comprehensive medical histories.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing.
• Prescribe medications within state licensing and laws.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare resources.
• Build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with clinic team to support workflows.
• Participate in patient education and health promotion initiatives.
