Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• ARC-PA accredited program required.
• Licensed Physician Assistant (LPA) in NY required.
• NCCPA Certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates, documents and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure thorough screening and preparation of patients.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, laboratory work and diagnostic tests; interprets results.
• Confers with attending physicians and care team to ensure quality patient care.
• Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions and referrals post-discharge; informs patients of aftercare.
• Performs related duties as required.
