Job summary

Main Line Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support the Thoracic Surgery group across Paoli Hospital, Riddle Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital.

You will work under supervision to manage outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care, advancing your career with opportunities for certifications and advancement.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant required.
• Surgical physician assistant experience required.
• Thoracic surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care.
• Liaise with supervising physician; obtain histories and perform exams.
• Order and interpret imaging, labs, and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications and therapies; perform procedures.
• Assist in operating room cases.

Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you would be aiding in the management of your patients in a variety of areas: outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care. You would extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by: acting as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribing medications & therapies, performing and assisting in common bedside/office procedures, as well as assisting in the operating room.

Position:

Physician Assistant PA-C -Thoracic Surgery

Shift:

Full Time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday Day shift with weekend rotation

Experience:

• 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant required.
• Surgical Physician Assistant experience required
• Thoracic Surgery experience preferred

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.

Licensures/Certifications:

• Must be Certified (PA-C) or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
• Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
• Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred.
• Refer to the Specialty Addendum.
• Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
