Job summary

Indian Health Service (IHS) seeks a Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive therapeutic and preventive health services in an outpatient setting. The role includes identifying and managing illnesses, and educating staff and tribal leaders on health care issues.

You will precept students and contribute to community health initiatives while maintaining PA licensure and NCCPA certification. A federal background check is required for employment.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies or related master’s degree with physician assistant program
• Successful completion of NCCPA examination and maintenance of certification
• Active PA license to practice in the U.S. or territory
• Experience in preventive and therapeutic outpatient care preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive therapeutic and preventive health services in outpatient settings.
• Identify and manage illnesses and preventive aspects of diseases.
• Educate and orient staff, tribal members, health board, and leaders on health care issues.
• Teach and precept students and new health care workers.
