Job summary

Summit Orthopedics in Minnesota is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic urgent care team. You will work under physician supervision, perform exams, order tests, and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

This casual role floats to multiple locations and includes day, evening, and holiday rotations with competitive hourly pay from $54.40 to $168.00 plus bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant required.
• Minnesota PA license required or eligible.
• Cert Physician Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical exams, takes medical history, image interpretation and patient evaluation/care.
• Orders diagnostic tests and scans and prescribes medications.
• Administer injections, participate in suture and dressing removal and manage simple fracture management/cast application and removal.
• Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems; responds to emergencies including CPR.
• Establishes activity and work restrictions and/or return to work plans.
• Counsels patient/family on preventive health care and pre-/post-operative education.
• Documents patient information and care in the medical record.

The PA practices medicine with physician supervision in an orthopedic urgent care setting including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions. Within physician-advanced practice provider relationship, APPs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. May include responsibility for education, research, and administrative services.

This is a casual role that will be expected to float to various locations based on needs of Orthopedic Urgent Care locations. This role will provide coverage during the day while also being part of an evening/holiday rotation. Length of shift could vary.

**COVID: Providers (PA/NP) -that will work in non-Summit locations may need to be fully vaccinated or have been granted an approved medical or religious exemption prior to start date. (These guidelines are determined by each non-Summit location and will be adhered to as appropriate.)**

Summit's hiring range for this position is $54.40 to $168.00 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
