Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to support a dynamic spine practice in Chicago. The role involves clinic and operating room assistance, collaboration with physicians, and delivering top-tier patient care across affiliated clinics in Illinois and Indiana.

Ideal candidates are graduates of AMA-accredited PA programs with IL/IN licenses or a willingness to obtain them, CPR certification, and a drive to excel in a high-volume orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS, MS preferred; graduate of AMA accredited PA program.
  • Current Illinois and Indiana state licenses or willingness to apply.
  • Certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physician, other PAs, MAs and admin staff.
  • Assist physician in clinic and operating room settings.
  • Assess patient health status and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize EHR, dictation, and outcomes tools to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Provide medical care as delegated by physician.
  • Educate patients and families and ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile medical data.
  • Order or administer diagnostics and interpret results.
  • Perform procedures such as injections and wound care.

Ready to join? We are looking for a full-time Physician Assistant to support a busy spine practice. This is a wonderful opportunity for a driven, hard-working PA looking to grow with our already busy clinical practice. We are searching for a person that is excited to provide unparalleled customer service in the clinic and OR. The position requires traveling to a combination of the following clinics located in Chicago, IL, Joliet, IL, Oak Brook, IL, and Munster, Indiana. New grads or experienced PAs are welcome to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Close collaboration with existing team (Physician, PA's, MA and admin.)
  • Assist the physician in clinic and operating room settings.
  • Assess patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize practice technology including, but not limited to, electronic health record, dictation, and outcomes tools to their full capability to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by physician.
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate and provide continuity of care.
  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
  • Travel with Physician as required.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS, MS preferred; graduate of AMA accredited PA program.
  • Current Illinois and Indiana state license or willingly to apply.
  • Certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current CPR Certification

Pay Range: $100,000 - 125,000 annualized. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
