Position Details:
Join Hartford Hospital’s Emergency General Surgery team, practicing at your full scope and caring for critically ill surgical patients. The Advanced Practitioners (APPs) are key clinical drivers, working with advanced Acute Care Surgeons. This role involves inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with future OR opportunities. APPs are part of a multidisciplinary team managing care from emergency room to operating room, surgical floors, critical care units, and outpatient settings.
Role: Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102
Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
Schedule: Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts, Monday-Friday 6am-7:30pm, no nights, with premium differentials
Call schedule: Home call, one weekend per month answering service calls

Role Scope:
Under established guidelines, in collaboration with physicians, APPs perform physical exams, develop treatment plans, and refer to specialists as needed. They provide treatment within their scope and refer outside their scope appropriately.
