Position Details:
Join Hartford Hospital’s Emergency General Surgery team to practice at your full scope and care for critically ill surgical patients. The Advanced Practitioners (APPs) are key clinical drivers, working with advanced Acute Care Surgeons. The role involves inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with occasional OR opportunities in the future. APPs collaborate across the care continuum from ER to OR, surgical floors, ICU, and outpatient settings.
Role: Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102
Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
Schedule: Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts, Monday-Friday 6am-7:30pm, no nights, premium differentials
Call Schedule: Home call, one weekend per month answering service
Support for APPs:
Scope of Practice:
Under supervision and established guidelines, APPs perform physical exams, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care, referring to physicians as needed, within their scope of practice.
