Geisinger in Pennsylvania seeks a team-oriented cardiothoracic surgery coordinator to guide patients through every stage of their surgical journey, from initial evaluation to postoperative recovery.

You will collaborate with cardiac surgeons, coordinate preoperative testing, scheduling, clearances, and education, round on patients postoperatively, and assist with discharge planning and follow-up care.

• Experience coordinating preoperative testing and scheduling with cardiac surgeons.
• Ability to manage outpatient referrals and participate in Heart Team discussions.

Join our collaborative cardiothoracic surgery team and play a key role in guiding patients through every stage of their surgical journey, from initial evaluation to postoperative recovery.

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate and prepare patients for cardiothoracic surgery in partnership with cardiac surgeons.
• Coordinate preoperative testing, surgical scheduling, medical clearances, and patient education.
• Manage outpatient referrals and participate in Heart Team discussions for valve and structural heart patients.
• Round on postoperative cardiac surgery patients and assist with ongoing inpatient management.
• Coordinate discharges, follow-up care, and recovery planning.
• Conduct postoperative visits and manage patient questions, phone calls, and portal messages.
