Job summary

Confluence Health in Washington state is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver primary and specialized health care to hospital and clinic patients. You will perform examinations, diagnose, and treat chronic and acute conditions, and order diagnostics as needed.

You will write prescriptions and assist with office procedures, educate patients and families, and participate in health promotion activities. The role reports to the Practice Manager and requires active PA licensure with prescriptive

  • Prescriptive authority within WA is required.
  • Related experience is a plus.

  • Educates patients and families on physical and emotional health and preventive care.
  • Participates in health promotional activities and clinical care planning.
  • Maintains accurate patient records in accordance with policy.

Summary

Provides primary and appropriate specialized health care services to hospital and clinic patients. Performs examinations and provides treatment to minor/routine problems; performs or orders diagnostic test; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medication; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.

Essential Functions
  1. Provide primary and specialized health care to patients. Examination, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries. Refers to physician as needed.
  2. Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
  3. Educates patients and families and helps them understand issues related to physical and emotional health.
  4. Participates in health promotional activities.
  5. Participates in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
  6. Maintains accurate and complete patient records in compliance with organizational policy.
  7. Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
  8. Provides professional medical services within the scope of training and responsibility, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
  9. Support physicians with on-call responsibilities.
  10. Records statistics and conducts research as deemed necessary.
  11. Collaborates with staff and physicians to identify patient’s needs and help develop plan to meet those needs.
  12. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
