Job summary

Banner Health's Occupational Health and Wellness division in Phoenix seeks a Physician Assistant to join our team in partnership with the Phoenix Fire Department. The role focuses on baseline and annual physical exams, evaluation and treatment of industrial injuries, and ongoing follow-up for non-industrial conditions within a collaborative care team.

The ideal candidate holds PA-C with NCCPA, current AZ license or eligibility, DEA license, ACLS/BLS, and NRCME DOT certification.

Qualifications

• PA-C designation (NCCPA) and active prescribing privileges.
• DEA license required for controlled substances.
• AZ license or eligibility to practice in AZ.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NRCME (DOT) certification to perform driver examinations.
• Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or orthopedics preferred.
• Ability to read EKGs and interpret treadmill stress tests and willingness to training within 6 months.
• Schedule: M-F, 7:00a-4:00p, call rotated within team.

Responsibilities

• Perform baseline and annual physical exams and occupational medical evaluations.
• Evaluate, treat and follow up on industrial injuries and non-industrial medical conditions.
• Address infectious and hazardous material exposures as part of the occupational health program.

Our Occupational Medicine Provider will perform baseline and annual physical exams, evaluate, treat, and follow up on industrial injuries and non-industrial medical conditions, infectious and hazardous material exposures.

Required Qualifications:

• PA-C designation (NCCPA)
• Current prescribing privileges, including a DEA license for controlled substance required
• Current AZ license or eligibility
• ACLS/BLS required
• Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care or orthopedics is preferred
• Mentorship available
• Certification to perform NRCME (DOT) driver examinations required
• The ability to read and interpret EKGs and exercise treadmill stress tests is a plus or obtain training within 6 months of employment
• M - F | 7:00a-4:00p | Call rotated within team
