Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner - Orthopaedics - $10k Recruitment Incentive

Location: Geisinger Orthopaedics Wilkes-Barre

Shift: Days (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Job Summary:

The Orthopaedic team is seeking an advanced practitioner to join their team in Pittston, Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to work with the Hand Surgery team.

Job Duties:
  1. Assess and establish presumptive diagnoses; implement treatment plans for patients.
  2. Accurately document entries in the electronic medical record; order and interpret diagnostic tests; consult as appropriate; prescribe evidence-based medical therapies.
  3. Prescribe, adjust, or discontinue medications or therapies as appropriate.
  4. Evaluate and report significant risks to the collaborating physician regarding patient health or test results.
  5. Perform procedures within the scope of the physician assistant license.
  6. Communicate with the collaborative physician, patient, PCP, and referring staff via phone or other means.
  7. Provide safe, ethical care and health education, acting as a patient advocate in a language they understand.
  8. Follow policies and guidelines to meet procedures, goals, and deadlines.
Work Environment & Responsibilities:

Work is typically performed in a clinical setting. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills and competencies will be outlined during orientation.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant (Required); Master's Degree in Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)

Experience: Relevant clinical experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses: Basic Life Support Certification; Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
