Job summary

California Pain in La Mesa seeks a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Pain Management team under supervision of a pain management physician. The PA will perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and treat acute and chronic pain, and contribute to ongoing care planning to improve patient quality of life.

The role requires CA PA licensure, NCCPA certification, and a DEA license. 1–2 years in pain management or related fields is preferred, with strong EMR proficiency and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current CA PA license.
  • NCCPA certification required.
  • DEA license with prescriptive authority.
  • 1–2 years of experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments including history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests under supervision.
  • Perform in-office procedures (e.g., joint injections, trigger point injections) as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, psychologists, and other providers to deliver holistic pain care.
  • Educate patients on medication management, lifestyle changes, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in HIPAA compliance.
  • Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and continuing education programs.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong interest in pain management to join our multidisciplinary care team. The PA will work under the supervision of a pain management physician, performing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and treating patients with acute and chronic pain, and participating in ongoing care planning to improve patient quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments including history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with state regulations and supervision agreements.
  • Perform in-office procedures (e.g., joint injections, trigger point injections) as appropriate to training and scope of practice.

  • Provide patient education on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards.
  • Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and continuing education programs related to pain management.
Qualifications:
