Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical services within the defined scope and work with the medical team to assess urgent health needs.

You will document patient information, treat illnesses and injuries per operating instructions, and maintain confidentiality and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program and hold NCCPA, AANP or ANCC certification.
• Active and unrestricted NP/PA license.
• Minimum of 2 years recent NP/PA experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• ATLS required before deployment.
• Recent direct patient care experience (>=6 months in past year).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
• Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients
• Analyzes data and formulates a plan of care with other members of the medical team
• Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions
• Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols and the Privacy Act
• Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions
• Exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making daily
• Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload
• Pursues professional development activities and continuing education
• Monitors reconciliation of financial transactions and ensures contract charges are applied uniformly
• Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality and infection control procedures.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant school and hold a NCCPA, AANP or ANCC Certification
• Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted NP/PA License, free from any pending adverse actions
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
• Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required
• Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) will be required before deployment
• Recent clinical experience in direct patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year
• Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required
• Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner
• Must be a US citizen or be a permanent resident residing in the US for 3 of the past 5 years.
