Job summary

Northwest Physicians Group in Amarillo, Texas, affiliated with Universal Health Services, is seeking a Physician Assistant for a full-time role providing a full scope of specialty services to its patient population across the group’s facilities.

The Provider will exercise independent medical judgment in patient care, adhere to all policies, and ensure respectful, nondiscriminatory treatment for all patients regardless of race, religion, gender, or payment ability.

Qualifications

  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) credential required.
  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas and maintain throughout employment
  • Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rule and Regulations
  • BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintain throughout employment

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full scope of specialty services to patients at the facilities.
  • Perform all duties and services within the scope of the provider's specialty and experience.
  • Exercise independent medical judgment in providing care and treatment to patients.
  • Be courteous and respectful of patients' rights and dignity and work cooperatively with administrative staff.
  • Abide by all Group policies and procedures and ensure non-discrimination in care and payment.

About Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty, and urgent care locations in and around Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including cardiac, pediatric, women’s, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare.

POSITION: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
POSITION SUMMARY

As a full-time employee, Provider will provide a full scope of Specialty services to Group's patients at the Facilities. Provider shall perform all duties and services under Group's general constraints that require Provider to infringe the ethics of the medical profession, violate any law, or practice outside Provider's Specialty and experience. Provider retains the right to exercise Provider's independent medical judgement in providing care and treatment to patients. Provider shall be courteous and respectful of the rights and dignity of patients with whom he/she comes into contact and shall work cooperatively with Group's administrative staff. Provider shall abide by all Group policies and procedures, as adopted and updated from time to time. Provider shall provide services to all patients regarless of their race, sexual preference, religion, gender, or ability or inability to pay and any other class protected by law.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSE, TRAINING & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE)
  • Certified Physican Assistant (PA-C)
