Job summary

Northwest Physicians Group in Amarillo, Texas seeks a Nurse Practitioner to oversee the quality of care and collaborate with physicians in delivering health services.

This role requires Texas NP licensure, an accredited RN program background, BLS certification, and at least 12 months of clinical nursing experience in the specialty. The position is part of the UHS family with a focus on population health and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.
  • Current Adult Nurse Practitioner license to practice in Texas.
  • Minimum of 12 months of nursing practice in the specialty.
  • Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the quality of care delivered to patients.
  • Collaborates with other health care professionals in delivering health care services.
  • Makes independent nursing decisions and collaborates with physicians on regimens.
  • Assumes dependent responsibilities in carrying out delegated medical acts.

Responsibilities

Position: Nurse Practitioner

  • Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practicesthe Service Excellence Standards to all groups

Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including: cardiac, pediatric, women's, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable)
  • Graduate of anaccredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Current license or permit topractice professional nursing in the state of Texas and maintain throughout employment
  • Current Adult Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of Texas and maintain throughout employment
  • Minimum of 12 months of current nursing practice in specific specialty area in which the nurse will practice advanced nursing
  • Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rule and Regulations
  • BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintain throughout employment
