Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive care under the supervision of a licensed physician. The PA will examine, diagnose, and decide on treatment for patients, including writing prescriptions and interpreting tests.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, NCCPA certification, Texas license as a PA, and BLS. Previous clinical experience is preferred; DEA license within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Graduate from NCCPA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
• BLS or Instructor certification; DEA license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive care under physician supervision.
• Examine, diagnose and treat patients; write prescriptions and manage care.
• Perform independent functions under physician license and assist in procedures.
• Order therapies, interpret X-rays and lab results; coordinate with care teams.
