Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Physician Assistant to assist physicians across ambulatory and acute care settings in Frederick, MD. The role covers diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventative care under supervision, with duties spanning multiple specialties.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and coordinating discharge and follow-up while collaborating closely with physicians and the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARC-approved Physician Assistant Program with a Master’s degree and state license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Acute Care, Surgical, Critical Care, or Trauma experience preferred.
• BLS certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
• Additional certifications (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical examinations; order and interpret labs and imaging as needed.
• Work with a collaborating physician to develop and implement care plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications as permitted by prescriptive authority.
• Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up appointments with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Ensure continuity of care and accurate documentation of patient care activities.
