Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, Texas is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Inpatient Medicine team. The role offers clinical autonomy, inpatient responsibility, and a structured nights schedule (7 on / 14 off) that supports work-life balance while caring for a diverse hospitalized patient population alongside physicians and an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must have Texas PA license.
• NCCPA certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

About The Role

As an Inpatient Medicine PA, you'll play an important role in the care of hospitalized patients throughout their stay. You'll use your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and independent judgment to evaluate patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.

You’ll Have The Opportunity To

• Perform patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate changes in patient condition and determine appropriate interventions.
• Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe medications and provide treatments within your scope of practice.
• Conduct hospital rounds and assist with admissions and discharges.
• Perform procedures based on your training, competency, and scope of practice.
• Monitor treatment response and adjust plans of care as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the care team.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
• Recognize when additional consultation or escalation of care is needed.
