Your duties include but are not limited to working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Medical Directors. The Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) provides medical evaluations and ongoing medication treatment to Oncology patients being co-managed with Oncology specialist physicians. This patient population includes solid tumor, malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, and other clinical cancer research trial patients.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

1. Participates in data collection related to the patients' status and needs.
2. Performs initial hospital admissions and initiates care coordination for patients being admitted either for primary treatment of oncologic issues or medical-surgical issues.
3. Collaborates with specialists and incorporates consultant recommendations into the treatment plan.
4. Provides direct patient care to hospitalized Oncology patients within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
5. Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patients' health/illness state and plan of care.
6. Documents clearly all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record.
7. Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established policies.

Preferred candidates should have:

1. At least 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
2. Prior experience as a bedside nurse, preferably in oncology, ICU, or ER setting.
3. Prior Oncology experience strongly preferred but not necessary.

Great organization skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexibility in work roles, team player, ability to multitask, great attention to detail, excellent bedside manners, and the ability to communicate effectively in the English Language.
