Job Overview

The Physician Assistant is an independent healthcare provider who coordinates inpatient/outpatient care through collaboration with the Physician. The PA provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory Committee. Open to new graduate PAs.

Required:
  • Physician Assistant Certification
  • Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
  • CDS and DEA
Preferred:
  • OR Experience
  • Fluency in Spanish, and other languages is a plus
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full time
  • 40 hours
  • Monday - Friday (8:30-5:00)
Essential Functions
  • Assist physicians in the office, take H&Ps, administer medications, perform physical exams, and facilitate patient flow.
  • Assist with procedures/surgeries and coordinate patient cases.
  • Organize and achieve quality performance in routine tasks.
  • Coordinate patient care within a women's health environment.
  • Manage time effectively, organize schedules, and communicate efficiently.
  • Implement practice policies and perform patient assessments.
  • Prioritize work to minimize delays and complete daily tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Physician.
  • Identify areas for improvement and initiate changes.
  • Communicate regularly with nursing staff about patient care issues.
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide education.
  • Calculate breast cancer risk scores.
  • Assist in the OR and handle follow-up tasks such as contacting patients, updating prescriptions, and ordering imaging.
  • Coordinate with other specialties and schedule follow-up diagnostics.
  • Manage documentation, including biopsy spreadsheets and tracking neo-adjuvant patients.
  • Handle post-op care, including calls and complications.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings and breast conferences.
