Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Physician Assistant to perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves diagnosing, treating, and coordinating care across the continuum, with focus on evidence-based practice and patient education. A Master’s degree and PA license are required, with BLS preferred and 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred.

Job Description:
  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
  • Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions within scope of practice.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory, diagnostic, and other tests as appropriate.
  • Prescribes, administers, and monitors medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with licensure and organizational policies.
  • Provides patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance.
  • Documents assessments, treatment plans, patient encounters, and clinical outcomes accurately and timely within the medical record.
  • Coordinates patient care services, including consultations, referrals, follow-up care, and transitions across the continuum of care.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and efficient delivery of care.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, privacy, and organizational requirements.
  • Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Supports patient advocacy, patient satisfaction, and a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Maintains professional competency through continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  • Utilizes sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practice to support quality patient outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
