Job summary

Requires NYS PA/NP licenses or NCCPA certification, ARC-PA accreditation, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program.
• NCCPA certification is required.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) is required.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner program is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, labs, and diagnostics.
• Interprets laboratory and test results.
• Confers with physicians and staff to ensure quality care.
• Notes discharge summaries and referrals on patient charts.
• Informs patients of post-discharge care instructions.
