Job summary

USA Health is seeking a Pediatric Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Mobile, Alabama team. You will assist in diagnoses, perform screenings, obtain histories, and coordinate care for infants, children, and adolescents under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include prescribing and monitoring medications, ordering tests, maintaining EHRs, and guiding families through the diagnostic process.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing with completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program is required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of children referred for developmental delays/disorders and/or behavior concerns under the supervision of a physician.
• Performs medical and developmental screenings and evaluation of Infants and toddlers.
• Obtains thorough histories and physicals on pediatrics patients.
• Assists in determining needed evaluations for new patients.
• Provides information and support to families regarding the diagnostic process and guidance and implications regarding diagnosis.
• Initiates referrals to other physicians and agencies.
• Responsible for prescribing and monitoring medications.
• Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies.
• Updates and maintains electronic health records.
• Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements.
• Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program Required
• PA - Physician Assistant - Licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within 60 Days Required or
• CRNP - Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse. Upon Hire Required
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
