PAGNY is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to join the Division of Correctional Health Services at NYC Health + Hospitals. The role is full-time and based at multiple facilities on Rikers Island, with supervision from the Site Medical Director.

You will perform histories, physicals, order tests, manage medications, and coordinate care for incarcerated patients within the jail system. Requires NYS PA license and NCCPA certification; union benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; no prior work experience needed.
• Hold NY State PA license.
• Certified by NCCPA.

Responsabilités

• Completes comprehensive histories and physicals on new admissions and documents MPL.
• Perform SOAP notes for sick calls, schedule follow-ups, and update orders.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses; evaluate consult needs.
• Review on-island/off-island consults and implement recommendations.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain standards of care.
• Complete encounter forms daily and maintain licensure and CME requirements.
• Maintain clinical competency by reviewing protocols and literature.
• Ensure all notes and orders are countersigned before shift end.
