Altea Healthcare is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant (PA) for a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) role in Colorado. The position offers a 7-on/7-off schedule and a strong compensation package, with a focus on high-quality inpatient care and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.

As a PA in LTACH, you will perform exams, order tests, manage conditions, prescribe therapies, and educate patients while documenting thoroughly in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Current PA licensure or eligibility to obtain.
• DEA registration current or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
• Interest in geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, or post-acute care.
• Experience in inpatient hospital settings is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical exams and review medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs and imaging.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and facility staff.

What You'll Do

As a Certified PA, you'll serve as a key clinical provider in LTACH setting, delivering high-quality care to patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Your responsibilities include:

• Performing comprehensive physical exams and reviewing medical histories
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging
• Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions
• Prescribing medications and developing individualized treatment plans
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, and facility staff
• Educating patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care

Who Should Apply?

The ideal candidate should be:

• Comfortable practicing in a complex inpatient hospital environment.
• Confident managing medically complex patients with multiple comorbidities.
• Familiar with ventilators, tracheostomies, respiratory failure, sepsis, and acute inpatient medicine.
• Comfortable recognizing and managing urgent clinical situations while working collaboratively with specialists.
• Familiar with electrolyte management, particularly in dialysis patients.
