Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide diagnostic and emergency care in outpatient and acute inpatient settings. You will order and interpret tests, perform procedures, and coordinate complex care with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a PA license, board eligibility, and 4–10 years of experience, along with ongoing NCCPA recertification and essential certifications. You will participate in education and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in PA Studies is required.
• Current PA Physician Assistant license is required.
• PA-C or board eligible.
• 4–10 years related experience and/or training.
• NCCPA recertification within 90 days of hire.
• DEA licensure within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS Certification.
• CPR - American Heart Association.
• Act 33/34/73 background clearances.
• HIPAA and data security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate diagnostic and emergency care for patients in outpatient and acute inpatient settings.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and specialized diagnostic studies.
• Institute emergency measures and stabilization techniques for acute patient situations.
• Prepare and electronically prescribe medications; administer medications and injections.
• Perform minor bedside surgical procedures and complex specialty‑specific procedures.
• Coordinate complex care with patients, families, community services, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Consult attending physicians for cases beyond PA‑C scope or requiring higher‑level medical decisions.
• Provide specialized and inpatient care.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical record documentation.
• Educate patients and families on prevention, medication, and treatment instructions.
• Ensure continuity of care across outpatient visits, inpatient stays, and post‑discharge follow‑ups.
• Daily inpatient rounds and triage clinic calls and inquiries.
• Assist with surgical, interventional radiology, and fluoroscopic procedures under supervision.
• Contribute to trainee and staff education.
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other specialty‑specific duties under privileging and job agreement.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Current PA Physician Assistant License
• PA-C or board eligible
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ongoing successful recertification (NCCPA) as a PA‑C within 90 days of hire
• Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire
• ACLS Certification

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
