Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cardiothoracic operating room experience as an APP.
• PA degree from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Current Michigan licensure or in-process licensure.
• National NCCPA certification is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS may be obtained after hire).

Responsibilities

• Oversee perioperative management of cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care and evaluations.
• Serve as surgical first assistant and participate in patient rounding and postoperative planning.
• Support weekend coverage and on-call duties.

Position Overview

Credentials

Education & Training

Licensure

• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).

Certification

• PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire)

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure

• PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
