Job summary

Premise Health is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant for our Health Center in Hagerstown, MD. The role covers routine preventive care, exams, and acute clinical tasks within a collaborative team.

You will perform procedures, manage patient care plans, order tests, and educate patients on therapies, with a focus on continuity of care. A 2nd shift schedule runs 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department settings.
• Current NCCPA national certification is required.
• Degree from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license where required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required depending on contract scope.

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Performs procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Prescribes or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refs patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Performs other duties as assigned
