Job summary

Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Nebraska seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care within a hospital/clinic setting. The PA will support the primary care physician, participate in complex procedures, and help manage in-patient and out-patient care while advocating for PCMH/RHC goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited program.
• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
• Current Nebraska license and NCCPA certification.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work within a healthcare team and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services.
• Document encounters in the EHR thoroughly for clinical review.
• Provide care with telemedicine/phone-call oversight.
• Assess treatment needs and determine admissions, transfers, or discharges.
• Coordinate medical and nursing management with Medical Staff and others.
• Maintain timely, factual, legible patient documentation.
• Perform emergency treatment as required.

Job description

Pawnee County Memorial Hospital has a position available for a full-time Physician Assistant. This position provides medical services of the type usually performed by a physician and will always work as an advocate of the PCMH/RHC with the goal to serve patients. As a member of the health care team, the PA will play an integral role in the global management of in-patients and out-patients, including all aspects of care in the hospital and clinic setting. This includes assisting the primary care physician in complex procedures. Our small-town atmosphere offers a professional environment in a critical access facility. Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree
• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program

Job Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services.
• Establishes and maintains documentation within the EHR for each patient encounter that are sufficiently complete for any clinical provider reviewing them to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
• Provides care and treatment to patients independently with telemedicine/phone call oversight.
• Determines a patients treatment course and determine the need for admission, transfer to higher level of care or to discharge a patient.
• Collaborates with Medical Staff, management, and other health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
• Maintains and performs all patient related documentation in a timely, factual, and legible manner.
• Performs Emergency treatment as required.
• Promotes and ensures patient safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
• Assumes accountability for continual development of self and colleagues as professional practitioners.
• Other duties as assigned.
