Job summary

Memorial Community Hospital & Health System in Blair, Nebraska, is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Walk-In Clinic team. Responsibilities

Memorial Community Hospital & Health System (MCH), located in Blair, Nebraska, is seeking aNurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team working PRN in our Walk-In Clinic.

Job Summary

• The MCH Walk-In Clinic is open 7 days/week. We are seeking a PRN candidate to work at minimum two shifts per month.
• Performs detailed and accurate assessments and documents all information necessary to ensure accurate patient records.
• Elicits pertinent medical and psycho-social history including: patient profile, chief complaint, history and review of symptoms.
• Develops initial impression as to severity, etiology, and immediacy of patient’s problem based on analysis of data obtained from history, physical, and ancillary or diagnostic testing.
• Performs a physical examination as pertinent, modifying the examination for the nature of the complaint or problem, age/sex and physical condition of patient.
• Able to prioritize daily workload and be flexible to meet unexpected demands that the position may require.
• Establishes diagnosis of common problems with physician consultation and guidance as appropriate.
• Prescribes medications appropriate for and effective in the treatment of diagnosed issue.
• Works collaboratively with other providers, utilizing physicians when necessary and appropriate for consultation.
• Maintains compliance with regulations, including those imposed by Medicare and other third party payors (i.e. Completion of Medicare waivers when necessary, documentation of medical necessity for all ancillary and diagnostic tests ordered).
• Documents thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely fashion, all patient encounters.

Job Requirements

• Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska
• Current certification from the (NCCPA) National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Must be proficient in basic life support skills.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification or within 90 days of hire.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification or within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain medical staff privileges, in an active status, and in good standing at MCH.
• At least 2 years of experience as a practitioner required.
