BronxCare Health System is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Orthopedic department in inpatient surgery, major joint replacement, spine, peri-operative care, surgical preparation, and outpatient evaluations. The PA will perform initial orthopedics evaluations, round daily, and assist in surgery.

The role includes managing discharge planning, reviewing labs and imaging, and preparing pre-surgical packets for upcoming procedures within a busy orthopedic service.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• NYS Physician Assistant License required.

Responsabilidades

• Rounds daily in the AM on all major case patients and writes notes for Attending review.
• Manages discharge planning for the Orthopaedic department.
• Reviews all labs and imaging tests for inpatient and outpatient cases per policy.
• Prepares all pre-surgical packets and chart reviews for upcoming surgery.
• Assists in surgery for the Orthopaedic Department.

Overview

The physician assistant (PA) has comprehensive responsibilities to manage and assist the Orthopedic department in the areas of inpatient surgery, major joint replacement and spine, peri-operative care, surgical preparation, and outpatient evaluations.

Rounds daily in the AM on all major case patients and write notes for Attending review. Manages the Orthopaedic department component of discharge planning. Reviews all laboratories and imaging tests done as inpatient and outpatient as per departmental policy for the Major Case Service. Prepares all pre-surgical packets and chart reviews for upcoming surgery.Assists in surgery for the Orthopaedic Department

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required Master's Degree Preferred. NYS Physician Assistant License.
