One Brooklyn Health System Inc. seeks a Physician Assistant to support surgical teams and patient care units in a hospital setting. The PA will work under the supervision of the House Surgeon and collaborate with interns, residents and other in-house staff.

Responsibilities include taking histories, performing exams, writing notes and orders, managing pre/post-operative care, and assisting in surgeries. NY licensure and PA program graduation are required; orthopedic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences required.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required.

Responsabilités

• Obtain detailed history and perform physical exams on surgical/assigned patients.
• Write progress notes on patient charts describing status, treatment, and plan of care.
• Write orders (pre/post-operative) and have them countersigned by House Surgeon or Attending.
• Request labs and imaging; ensure completion through follow-up.
• Perform daily rounds and dressing changes when applicable.
• Start IVs and draw blood as required.
• Insert nasogastric tube and Foley catheter; review pre-operative work-up.
• Take consents for interventional/operative procedures.
