Job description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant with demonstrated training and interest in functional and integrative medicine to join our clinical team. This clinician will work alongside our physicians to support and grow three specialty programs:

  • Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) — including pellet, injectable, topical, and oral protocols.
  • Longevity Weight-Loss Program — including GLP-1 and dual/triple-agonist therapy, quarterly metabolic monitoring, and wraparound Companion Care.
  • Peptide Therapy — including preparation, administration support, patient education, and protocol management.

The clinician will also participate in adjunctive wellness services (MAH, IV infusions, HOCATT, HBOT, VEMI, red light) and contribute to the ongoing growth of our functional medicine and longevity offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care — Functional & Integrative Programs
    • Perform intake, follow-up, and titration visits for hormone replacement, weight-loss, and peptide therapy patients under physician supervision and standing orders.
    • Complete or review the pre-visit questionnaire, capture baseline metabolic and hormonal data, and review symptom scales.
    • Educate patients on protocol expectations, medication use, side-effect management, nutrition, protein and hydration targets, movement, sleep, and stress.
    • Support pellet insertion, injections, and other in-office procedures within scope of licensure and competency.
    • Prepare and administer peptide therapies with attention to reconstitution, storage, sterile technique, and patient teaching.
    • Monitor and manage side effects, plateaus, and safety red flags; elevate promptly to the supervising physician.
    • Coordinate quarterly metabolic monitoring labs (HbA1c or fasting glucose, CMP, lipids, and advanced markers as ordered) and hormone labs on the schedule appropriate to each program.
    • Coordinate with pharmacy partners for compounded medications, verify sourcing, and confirm patient receipt and adherence.
  • Documentation, Athena, and Workflow
    • Complete timely, thorough Athena documentation using practice templates for weight-loss, BHRT, peptide, and wellness encounters.
    • Maintain complete baseline data, documented education topics, adherence tracking, and escalation notes.
    • Manage refill requests, prior authorizations, and correspondence tied to program patients.
    • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of pre-visit forms, follow-up forms, med-check forms, and patient education handouts.
  • Program Growth and Patient Experience
    • Serve as a knowledgeable, warm, and accessible point of contact for members enrolled in functional and longevity programs.
    • Deliver the Burick Way at every touch point: personal, attentive, responsive, and respectful.
    • Contribute clinical content ideas for newsletters, patient handouts, videos, and community education.
    • Support onboarding of new program patients, including new-patient tours and program orientation as needed.
    • Help identify workflow improvements, patient-experience gaps, and program growth opportunities.
  • Inventory, Compliance, and Room Readiness
    • Maintain supplies, medications, and program inventory in coordination with the clinical team.
    • Follow infection-control and controlled-substance protocols.
    • Support vendor and drug-representative coordination for program-related products.
    • Ensure exam and procedure rooms are stocked, clean, and ready for the day’s schedule.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Pennsylvania license as a Physician Assistant in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred for PA and NP candidates.
  • Documented coursework or clinical experience in at least one of the following, with demonstrated interest in the others:
    • Functional or integrative medicine (e.g., IFM, A4M, AIHM, or equivalent coursework, fellowship, or preceptorship).
    • Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy — pellet, injectable, or topical protocols (e.g., Evexias, BioTE, or equivalent training).
    • Anti-obesity pharmacotherapy and GLP-1 or dual-agonist weight-loss management.
    • Peptide therapy — reconstitution, administration, protocol management, and patient education.
  • Comfort with electronic health records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for a concierge patient population.
  • Ability to work independently within physician-directed protocols and to collaborate closely with our physicians and clinical team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional certification or fellowship in functional, integrative, longevity, or regenerative medicine.
  • Experience with metabolic monitoring, body-composition assessment, or functional-assessment batteries (grip strength, gait speed, SARC-F, and similar tools).
  • Familiarity with adjunctive wellness modalities: MAH, IV infusion therapy, HOCATT, HBOT, VEMI, and red light.
  • Experience with compounded pharmacy workflows and patient education around compounded therapies.
  • Background in patient-facing education, group programming, or content creation for handouts, videos, or newsletters.
