Job summary

HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our expanding surgical team. You will work with experienced physicians and PAs across Trauma, Vascular, Orthopedics, and Acute Care Surgery during hospital stays.

The PA will perform evaluations, provide direct patient care, and serve as 1st assistant in the operating room (open, minimally invasive, including robotic and laparoscopic).

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant with NY license or eligibility.
• Minimum 1 year surgical experience; new graduates considered.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients.
• Act as 1st Assistant in the Operating Room on open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures.
• Deliver direct patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop competency in procedures such as central line placement/removal, chest tube insertion/removal, and arterial lines.

Summary

Our dynamic surgical services at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY is seeking Physician Assistant, to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the PA will work alongside experienced physician and PA colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients, inclusive but not limited to Trauma, Vascular, Orthopedics, and Acute Care Surgery, throughout the course of their hospital stay.

Responsibilities

• Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients.
• PAs are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures (inclusive of robotic and laparoscopic)
• Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
• Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
