Job summary

WMCHealth is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for an outpatient Neurosurgery role in Suffern, NY. You will work with physicians and other APPs to manage diverse neurosurgical patients in ambulatory settings.

Details include 10-hour day shifts and a strong emphasis on collaborative, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have NYS licensure, active DEA, and at least 2 years in outpatient neurosurgery, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with NYS license and active DEA.
• Minimum 2 years outpatient neurosurgery experience; new graduates considered.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Active BLS & ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic studies including imaging and labs.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans with the neurosurgical team.
• Collaborate to optimize perioperative protocols and ensure safe patient preparation and handoff.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, options, and potential side effects.

Role Highlights:

What We’re Looking For:

• Board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who possesses, or is eligible to obtain, an applicable NYS license, and has an active DEA
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of outpatient neurosurgery experience, although highly motivated new graduates will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Active BLS & ACLS certifications
