Summary
This position is located at Indian Health Service Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. The incumbent serves as a technical expert in Anesthesiology, providing clinical anesthesia services and medical care for adult and pediatric patients.

Duties

1. Administers various types of anesthetics.
2. Examines patients before and after anesthesia.
3. Writes pre- and post-anesthesia orders.
4. Confirms patient readiness before induction.
5. Manages anesthetic periods and follows patients post-anesthesia.
6. Completes records of anesthetic administration and medications.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must not have committed disqualifying crimes related to contact or control over Indian children.
• Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
• Immunizations as per IHS Circular 2016-04 or exemption request.
• Must obtain and maintain medical staff privileges and licensure.
• On-call or standby duty may be required.
• Must pass E-Verify and background checks.
• Set up direct deposit for payments.

Qualifications

Relevant experience and education must be demonstrated in your resume. Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer, and part-time roles, with clear duties and hours specified.

Basic Requirements

• Degree: MD, DO, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school.
• Foreign degree: Must provide evidence of equivalency.
• Licensure: Current, active, unrestricted Physician license.
• Graduate training: At least 1 year of supervised clinical experience post-degree.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 5 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in Anesthesiology, demonstrating the ability to handle highly responsible patient care.

Applicants completing training within 9 months of applying should include a letter from their program confirming expected completion date.

Selective Factor

• Board Certified in the specialty or equivalent recent residency completion, or actively pursuing certification.
