Job Summary:

Physician Anesthesiologists evaluate, monitor, and supervise patient care before, during, and after surgery. They deliver anesthesia, lead the Anesthesia Care Team (MD/CRNA model), and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting. They specialize in anesthesia care, pain management, and critical care medicine. The ideal candidate is a dedicated team player with a strong work and training history.

Practice Details:
Kelsey-Seybold Anesthesiologists treat children, adolescents, and adults across multiple Houston locations. Procedures include general, orthopedic, endoscopy, plastics/reconstructive, ophthalmology, urology, gynecology, ENT, interventional radiology, and sedation for pain procedures. About 5% pediatric cases involve simple ENT procedures. Patients are ASA 1 to 3. No call, weekends, or holidays. Competitive salary and benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate patients to determine an appropriate anesthetic plan.
  2. Administer the correct dosage of anesthesia during procedures.
  3. Coordinate with healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and technicians.
  4. Work collaboratively with the Anesthesia team, including CRNAs.
  5. Maintain records of anesthesia type, patient condition, response, and medical histories.
  6. Assess patient recovery and facilitate transfer post-surgery.
  7. Order laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, X-rays, and other tests.
  8. Collaborate effectively with referring physicians and other professionals to optimize patient care.

Experience:
Minimum of two years as an Anesthesiologist in an acute hospital setting.

Education:
Graduate from an approved U.S. training program.

License and Certification:
Licensed in Texas, with current American Board of Anesthesiology certification, ACLS, and PALS certification.
