Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is seeking a licensed Anesthesiologist for a 13-week locum tenens assignment in Ketchikan, Alaska. The role runs 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, five days a week, with potential extension if needed and a focus on general OR cases, with OB and ED support as required.

Candidates must hold Alaska licensure (IMLC acceptable if AK license not yet obtained), and must maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NRP/ATLS are strongly desired.

Qualifications

• Alaska state medical licensure or IMLC eligible
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NRP and ATLS strongly desired
• Ability to perform general OR cases and OB/ED support as needed
• EPIC EMR proficiency for clinical documentation
• Active practice with case logs from the last 24 months
• Compliance with vaccination requirements (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

• Cover OR shifts Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with after-hours call on weekdays and weekends
• Perform general OR cases as primary clinical focus
• Provide OB department support as needed
• Provide ED support as needed
• Perform occasional A-line and Central Line procedures
• Work independently in a solo provider capacity
• Manage a variable patient load of approximately 5 to 15 patient contacts per day
• Provide care for patients across all age groups
• Maintain Alaska (AK) state licensure; IMLC accepted if AK license not yet in hand
• Maintain required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP and ATLS strongly desired)
• Demonstrate EPIC EMR proficiency and maintain case logs for the last 24 months
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements with no exemptions
• Complete 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Be willing to see MD/DO supervised or collaborative cases as applicable
