Job summary

University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC) in Towson, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Physician Advisor to join its strategic care management team.

The ideal candidate is board-certified, with 3–5 years of acute care experience, and will collaborate with executive leadership, case management, and health information management to optimize utilization review and discharge planning. This on-site role requires Maryland licensure.

Qualifications

• Education & Training: Doctorate degree in Medicine; Board-certified physician.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years acute care practice; Utilization Review/Case Management/Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement preferred.
• Licensure: Licensed MD or DO in Maryland.
• Certification: American College of Physicians Advisors (ACPA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical service chiefs, population health, access services and health information management to coordinate care management.
• Support utilization review and discharge planning through the Case Management triad with social workers and nurse care managers.
