Job summary

Catholic Health in New York seeks an experienced Physician Advisor to lead care coordination, LOS/LOC management, and CDI initiatives across inpatient services. You will partner with clinical teams to reduce variation, optimize patient flow, and ensure accurate documentation.

The role requires clinical leadership, education of CDI staff, participation in UM committee, and collaboration with nursing, patient access, and lab/radiology.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school; quality/utilization training preferred.
• Experience: minimum five years of recent clinical practice; UM/Physician Advisor experience preferred.
• Physical Demands: ability to travel to various patient care areas, conference facilities or corporate offices as requested.
• Supervision Received: Corporate Care Management Leader for Administrative supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician leadership on care coordination, LOS/LOC management and CDI.
• Collaborate with care teams to review utilization, continued stay decisions and discharge planning.
• Lead and participate in documentation improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
• Engage physicians and staff to reduce clinical variation and improve patient flow.
• Participate in the Utilization Management (UM) Committee and related initiatives.
