Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a Physician Advisor for CDI to lead clinical documentation improvement and serve as the bridge between CDI, physicians, and coding teams. This role ensures documentation reflects care complexity, supports appropriate reimbursement, and complies with regulations.

The ideal candidate will guide CDI staff, educate clinicians, and engage in reviews to improve patient outcomes and revenue integrity across the system.

Qualifications

• Board-certified MD or DO with CDI background.
• 3+ years of experience in CDI or revenue cycle.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CMS rules.

Responsibilities

• Analyze records to improve documentation accuracy and coding alignment.
• Provide clinical guidance to CDI specialists and coders.
• Lead education for physicians and APPs on documentation best practices.
• Participate in CDI meetings, mortality reviews, and DRG reviews.
• Improve documentation to support level of care and reimbursement.
