Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG) is seeking a full-time Physician Advisor to serve as a clinical resource to the medical staff and Case Management teams in South Florida.

The Physician Advisor will help identify and resolve utilization issues while supporting compliant, high-quality patient care and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, teaching, and clinical research initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestrictive medical license (or eligibility for licensure by start date).
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Medical Oncology (ABIM).
  • Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from an ACGME-accredited program.
  • Expertise in diagnosis and management of breast cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with breast cancer using chemotherapy, endocrine, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
  • Collaborate with Breast Surgical Oncology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, Genetics, and other oncology specialists.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor boards and treatment planning conferences.
  • Contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.

Job description

Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG), part of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF)—the largest healthcare organization in South Florida, with medical practices spanning from Key West to Palm Beach—is seeking a full-time Physician Advisor. The Physician Advisor serves as a clinical resource to the medical staff and Case Management/Social Work teams, helping identify, facilitate, and resolve utilization issues while supporting compliant, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

  • Requirements include MD/DO from an accredited institution, active and unrestrictive medical license (or eligibility for licensure by start date), and satisfactory completion of all required due diligence tasks and credentialing
  • Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology from an ACGME-accredited program is required
  • Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the diagnosis and management of patients with early-stage and advanced breast cancer
  • Responsibilities include the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients utilizing chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and participation in clinical trials when appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with Breast Surgical Oncology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, Genetics, and other oncology specialists to develop individualized treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes
  • Seeking candidates whose focus is on quality, excellent patient-centered care, exhibit professional demeanor, and promote collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Participate in research initiatives and quality improvement projects, while contributing to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor boards and treatment planning conferences informed by the latest clinical evidence and national guidelines
  • WCI has been recognized by the Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP) for promoting ethically sound and safe human subjects research practice
  • Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the management of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative breast cancers
  • Seeking candidates whose focus is on quality, excellent patient-centered care, exhibit professional demeanor, and promote collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment
