Job Summary
The Physician provides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients in accordance with evidence-based guidelines within a recognized area of practice.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides supervision for advanced practitioners when mutually decided upon with clinician and CMO or designee.
- Supervises student and resident education rotations at NOAH sites when mutually decided upon with clinician and CMO or designee.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Reviews and updates medical records in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Interacts with patients and families to keep them informed and engaged in the decisions and direction of health care.
- Provides counseling education and resource information on wellness, prevention of illness and health maintenance
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Abides by and enforces all PPE standards for clinical staff.
- Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
- Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.
Education And Experience
Required:
- Internship and Residency completed in an accredited Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Program (M.D./D.O.)
- Arizona State Physician License, active and in good standing.
- Board Certified or Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (ABFM or AOBFP; ABIM or AOBIM).
- Basic Life Support.
- DEA.
- X waiver,
Preferred
- Ability to prescribe Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Other Requirements
- New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
- Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
