Position Overview:

As a Collaborating Physician, you will collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants to manage patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities. You will ensure all care complies with HIPAA regulations and Alabama state laws governing medical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Evaluation: Oversee wound care assessments and treatment plans conducted by nurse practitioners and physician assistants to promote optimal healing and care.
  2. Patient Care Plans: Review, endorse, and guide patient care plans to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards for effective wound management.
  3. Telehealth Consultations: Conduct telehealth consultations as needed, offering expert advice on wound care strategies and treatments.
  4. Collaboration and Best Practices: Participate in case discussions and contribute to developing and implementing best practices in wound care, including advancements in grafting techniques and therapies.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear communication with the care team regarding patient status, treatment progress, and necessary adjustments.
  6. Compliance and Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure practices comply with all relevant regulations, including Indiana state laws.

Qualifications:

  1. Licensure: Must hold an active MD license in at least 30 states.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in Geriatrics, Primary Care, the ED, Hospitalist, or related fields is preferred.
  3. Knowledge: Understanding of chronic wounds and the regulatory framework for collaborating physicians in Indiana.
  4. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  5. Independence: Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
