Job summary

Sterling Health Solutions, Inc. in Mount Sterling, KY, seeks a full-time physician to provide comprehensive care across specialties under the Chief Medical Officer.

You will coordinate patient care, participate in continuing medical education, supervise midlevel clinicians, assist in staff recruitment, and serve on a rotating after-hours on-call schedule. MD or DO and Kentucky license required; board certification or eligibility in primary care; CPR training.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide health care in a sensitive manner to diverse populations
  • Ability to examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages independently
  • Board-certified or eligible in a primary care specialty (family practice, internal medicine, OB/Gyn, pediatrics)
  • Active Kentucky medical license and ongoing licensure maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages individual patient care.
  • Participates in continuing medical education as required for licensure and skills maintenance.
  • Assists the Medical Director in coordinating programs and supervising nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Assists in recruitment of medical staff.
  • Performs after-hours call coverage.
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-services, peer reviews, and quality initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under the direction and leadership of the SHS Chief Medical Officer, the Physician provides care to patients of SHS. Physicians may include Primary Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Podiatry, Psychiatry or other specialties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and manages individual patient care.
  • Participates in continuing medical education as required for licensure and skills maintenance.
  • Assists the Medical Director in the coordination of programs, supervision of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other medical staff members.
  • Assists in the recruitment of medical staff members.
  • Serves in rotation for after-hours call system.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings, in-services, peer reviews, quality initiatives and provider meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Able to provide health care in a sensitive manner to persons of all economic levels and cultural backgrounds
  • Able to examine, diagnose, and treat clients of all ages independently
Credentials and Experience

Required

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active Unrestricted Kentucky Medical License
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty (family practice, internal medicine, OB/Gyn, pediatrics or other specialty)
  • Current training in basic life support (CPR)
Special Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.
