St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based medical care within a collaborative hospital setting.

The role involves performing history and physical examinations, providing consults, supervising Advanced Practitioners, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation and participating in continuing medical education.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Residency and/or fellowship completed in obstetrics/gynecology.
  • MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Maintain medical staff membership and privileges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, cost effective medical care as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician.
  • Participate in quality, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform history and physical examinations of all patients seen.
  • Provide consultations requested by other physicians.
  • Round on assigned patients and requested patients, collaborating with an Advanced Practitioner as needed.
  • Provide care based on best-practice, evidence-based medicine.
  • Adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
  • Assess and treat patients according to age-appropriate growth, development, knowledge, and communication requirements.
  • Communicate regularly, timely, and appropriately with referring physicians, patients, and families.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Participate in regular practice group meetings.
  • Maintain current medical-record documentation and respond to chart-review and completion requests.
  • Submit timely and accurate billing information.
  • Supervise Advanced Practitioners.
  • Attend continuing medical education.
  • Develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Job description

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school required
  • Completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty required
  • Current or recent experience in area of specialty required
  • MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board within the state of practice
  • Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board required
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges
  • Eligible for and maintain eligibility as a provider of Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs
  • Meet all qualifications to participate in programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage
  • Ability to perform the stated physical and sensory requirements, including lifting, carrying, and pushing objects up to 75 lbs occasionally and transporting patients weighing up to 250 lbs via wheelchair or stretcher
