Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include performing history and physicals, consultations, rounding, and education while adhering to approved guidelines. The physician will supervise Advanced Practitioners, maintain medical records, and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure in PA/NJ.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency and/or fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Current or recent experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination of all patients.
  • Provide consultations as requested by other physicians.
  • Round on assigned patients and those requested in collaboration with an AP as needed.
  • Deliver cost-effective, high-quality care based on best‑practice evidence-based medicine.
  • Adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, range of treatment, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Provide timely communication with referring physicians, patients, and families.
  • Participate in education of patients and their families.
  • Attend regular meetings of the practice group.
  • Maintain current Medical Records documentation and respond in a timely manner to chart review requests.
  • Submit timely and accurate billing information.
  • Supervise Advanced Practitioners.
  • Attend continuing medical education to maintain Pennsylvania/New Jersey licensure.
  • Develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
  • Perform duties as assigned within the area of specialty or service line.

Education

Graduate of an accredited medical school

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Sitting for up to 5 hours per day; 1 hour at a time.
  • Standing for up to 5 hours per day; 2 hours at a time.
  • Walking for up to 3 hours per day; 1 hour at a time.
  • Fingering and handling small objects frequently.
  • Twisting and turning of hand occasionally.
  • Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Transport patients weighing up to 250 lbs via wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Frequently stoop and bend.
  • Frequently reach above shoulder level.
  • Possess tactile perception of objects.
  • Good hearing sufficient for normal conversation.
  • Vision adequate for general near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency and/or fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Training and Experience
  • Current or recent experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Licenses and Certifications
  • MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board within the state of practice.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the appropriate medical board.
Other Requirements
  • Maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Ensure eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Obtain and maintain professional malpractice and liability coverage.
