Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a friendly front desk professional to welcome patients, check them in and out, and support therapists in a busy outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, insurance verification, and handling co-pays while delivering excellent customer service to patients and visitors. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and accurate data entry in the Practice Management System.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of customer service or reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Exercise therapy experience or training/certification is a plus.
• Computer experience and strong interpersonal skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors during check-in and check-out.
• Assists with scheduling appointments and records information in the electronic scheduling system.
• Answers phone calls and routes them appropriately.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and explains requirements to patients.
• Collects co-pays and assists therapists as needed.

Short Description

• Greets visitors and assists them during check-in, intake and check-out
• Provides outstanding customer service
• Keeps Therapists on track and assists with exercise/therapy practices
• Schedules appointments and records information in Practice Management System ( Electronic Scheduling System)
• Answers telephone calls and routes appropriately
• Verifies insurance eligibility, ensures requirements are met and explains to patients as needed
• Collects co-pays
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent

Special Requirements

• One year of experience in customer service or reception, health care environment preferred
• Prior Exercise therapy experience or training/certification
• Computer experience preferred, Interpersonal skills must be well-developed
