The Physical Therapy Specialist willprovide assessment, consultation, and direct physical therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs; collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods and patterns of instructional support.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Working Location: Related and Specialized Services Departmentsupprtsvarious locations throughout the District.
  • The District covers a large portion of San Diego County. Refer to theDistrict Area Map at this Link and make sure to identify any and all specific area(s) you are interested in working in.   • Work Schedule: Positions typically work 10 months (220 days) or 11 months (242 days) per year.
  • Salary:This position is paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. Grade063. To view the Salary Schedule, clickhere .
  • Positions greater than 20 hours per week qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
  • Vacancies thatrequirethe incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish will be noted.Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and California license as a Physical Therapist; clinical affiliation in pediatrics is desirable; experience working with children in a physical therapy or educational setting is highly desirable.

NOTE: Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

Possession of a current and valid license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California to practice physical therapy.
